The Prosecco Cycling is one of the most anticipated cycling events of the season. It’s the ideal occasion to cycle in the “Garden of Venice” among the hills of the Prosecco wine, recently recognized as UNESCO'S world heritage site. Sport, food and wine, art and entertainment will be the ingredients of a weekend not to be missed.

The scheduled event is on the 29th of September commencing at 8.30 a.m. starting and arriving in Piazza Guglielmo Marconi in Valdobbiadene. After crossing for the first time also the city of Conegliano, the other capital of the superior Prosecco DOCG.

We are in the province of Treviso, in the Venetian' s heart, at half way to Venice and the Dolomites. The race route is 98,4 kms with elevation gain reaching 1.680 m. Cycling the gentle hill slopes makes Prosecco Cycling 2019 an event not to be missed. Any sporting enthusiast can participate and we welcome all types of pedal bicycles including electric bikes.

On the eve of the event, a welcome reception will be held in the elegant Tenuta Villa Sandi for all participants. You are invited to taste an impressive array of authentic, regional Italian food and wine and experience a guided tour of the spectacular wineries that proudly produce one of Italy’s most prestigious wine delights: the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG.

At Prosecco Cycling in 2019, the emphasis is on team cycling: the winning team’s ranking is awarded on it’s team work strategy and sportsmanship.

How will this be done? By taking into account the number of cyclists in a single team that can cross the finishing line within thirty seconds. In addition, the longer a team of riders cycle together during the 96km route, the greater it’s chances to win. The first team declared the winner of Prosecco Cycling 2019 is awarded a trophy and 60 bottles of Prosecco wine. The next four teams in winning order will each receive in order, 54,48,36 and 24 bottles.

This year, in addition, prosecco cycling will propose another original classification the Fun Team, which will award the group (indiscriminatly made of men and women, as long as cardholding with the same team) which will realise the best time on the entire course of race). The group must have been composed of at least five participants who has to pass trough the finish line in 30''.

This new concept for Prosecco Cycling 2019 will not affect the competition or the team spirit of the event. In fact, the four uphill climbs of the route will be timed and the sum of the four times recorded for each participant will determine the final classifications, excluding the electric bikes. The age categories will be accounted by Acsi Ciclismo. At Prosecco Cycling everyone will be a winner!
